The 2019 Lewis Peak Pet Nat may be sold out, but the other three wines are still available. Here is a rundown on each of the wines in my current release:
2019 Solaksen Vineyard White Pinot Noir:
Slightly "off-white", this wine falls somewhere between a white wine and a rose. It has everything that you could hope for in a joyful summer wine: fresh, happy, cheerful and just the right amount of depth and complexity to keep things interesting well into the second bottle. This wine is 100% Pinot Noir that was whole cluster pressed to neutral barrels before undergoing fermentation spontaneously with native yeast. This wine was gently filtered and had a minimum of SO2 added before bottling.
2018 French Creek Red Wine: 65% Mourvedre, 33% Syrah, 2% Grenache Blanc
The 2018 vintage sees the highest percentage of Syrah yet in the French Creek Red. This leads to an overall darker profile, the wine is mysterious and deep while maintaining the freshness and lightness of touch that I strive for. French Creek Vineyard just seems to mature and develop every year and I am so excited to be along for the ride. Straightforward Devium winemaking here, 100% whole cluster, 20-25 day maceration, native yeast and a nice quiet rest in neutral oak with a minimum of SO2 added.
2018 WeatherEye Red Wine: 45% Graciano, 30% Mourvedre, 15% Grenache, 10% Syrah
Co-picked and co-fermented, this wine is built around a beautiful north facing block of Graciano perched at the top of Red Mountain. Even though these grapes are sourced from Red Mountain, the north slope falls outside of the AVA, so is therefore labeled Columbia Valley. Before grapes were planted, the top of Red Mountain is about as perfect of an example of Eastern Washington high desert as you can imagine. Arid, austere and covered in wildflowers, sage brush and coyotes. This wine is all of those things, a true product of its environment, you can taste the sage and yarrow and if you listen closely, you might just here a coyote calling to the night sky. This is a monumental wine from a monumental site. Don't miss it.
2019 Lewis Peak Pet Nat: SOLD OUT
The less said here the better as there is very little left. Pure, effervescent, happiness in a bottle. Lewis Peak is set way up above the Walla Walla Valley in the foothills of the Blue Mountains at 3000' elevation and is one of the few Eastern Washington vineyards that is dry farmed. This is an incredibly exciting new frontier for Washington viticulture and this is the first commercial offering from this special area.
