Hello Everyone, I wish that these were happier times.
As the novel coronavirus crisis rages on, I have thought a lot about what Devium is and what it stands for. I had planned to release my new wines in the midst of the crisis, hoping that they could bring some joy. However, after a long deliberation, I have decided to hold off on releasing my beautiful new set of releases until we can use them to toast the end of this nightmare. I am hoping that will be sometime next month.
In the meantime, I have been looking for ways to help other small businesses and employees badly impacted by the coronavirus. Rest assured, when this virus has dissipated, Devium and I will still be here. Some businesses won't. Please consider ordering wines from small Walla Walla wineries that are facing a spring without tourism (many are offering shipping specials and discounts), buying gift cards and take out from local restaurants with empty dining rooms, and/or donating to hospitality worker relief funds such as, Seattle Hospitality Emergency Fund. These efforts, even if they seem small, may make a tremendous impact on someone's life.
I do still have a very small amount of my 2017 French Creek Red Wine (750's and mags) available. Here are my efforts for coronavirus relief: I will include shipping on all orders of 6+ bottles and I will be donating 50% of the proceeds from these remaining cases to the Seattle Hospitality Emergency Fund, https://www.gofundme.com/f/seattle-hospitality-emergency-fund. If you are in a different part of the country and would like the donation to be made to another charity or fund, please let me know in the order comments and I will do my best to accommodate.
We are all in this together, unfortunately small businesses, particularly the hospitality industry, are bearing the brunt of this terrible situation. When this is all over and we are raising a glass of 2018 WeatherEye Red in celebration, I hope that as many of these fellow small businesses, that so enrich our lives, will still have their doors open.
Thank you all so much for your continued interest and support and I wish you all the best in these difficult times.
Cheers,
Keith
